Following a meeting of the Basingstoke Canal Angling Association clubs on the 21st March 2024 it was decided to dissolve the association.
Due to this we are currently unable to include the Basingstoke Canal in our list of waters included in our membership.
We do not know what the future will be for fishing on the Canal. If the situation changes we will let you know.

*IMPORTANT MESSAGE *
I am sure you have all heard of the sad death of Her Majesty the Queen.
We have just been informed by Windsor Council that Home Park is now closed for all sporting activities. The car park is also closed.
This will be from now until the 20th of September inclusive.
Our other fisheries are not affected.

The fishery is open to all members.

Milton Pools match.
We have a match scheduled on the 5th December at Milton pools.
They have announced on their Facebook Page that the fishery will be closed from the 26th November to 6th of December.
Adrian has spoken to them and it will be closed to pleasure anglers but the fishery will remain open for booked matches during this period.
Our match will go ahead as shown on our fixture list.
10th July 2021
The Thames Valley Angling Association has taken over a new water and as a member club of TVAA it is included in the waters included in OWAC membership.
It is the Slough Arm of the Grand Union Canal from its end at Stoke Road in Slough for approximately 5 miles.
There used to be some very good sections on the canal but it has been many years since I fished it last and how it is fishing now is unknown.
More details, maps and car park locations will be shown on our web site when available.
23rd June 2021
Signs have been put up that the Home Park car park will be closed between 30th June and 5th July for the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
We have spoken to the horse show organisers and angling club members can use the car park during this period.
There will be a check point at the entrance to the car park. Tell the security guard you are an angling club member and have your membership card ready to show them.
Police and security guards will patrol the park and may check your identity. Keep your membership card available.
Park at the end of the car park in the gravel area as normal.
The end gate will be open but do not drive through it until you are ready to leave. The horse show will be installing a temporary track across the field for their large lorries and horse boxes. The road and track will form a one way system which you must follow.
To drive out follow the one way signs across the field to a gate onto King Edward VII Avenue.
11th May 2021
Memberships
There will be a slight delay in sending out memberships. This should only be by about a week.
Anyone who has already received their membership will be aware that we had not received the Basingstoke Canal booklets which come as part of your membership and that these would be sent on once received.
We have just been told that the books are now available and we should be in possession of them within the next week.
We are going to delay issuing membership packages until they have been received and the complete package can be issued.
2nd April 2021
Members who read the end of season newsletter will have seen that the Royal Windsor Horse Show and dog show had both been scheduled to be held at Home Park on the 1st to 4th July this year. The horse show is normally held in May. The dog show has now been cancelled.
If this is likely to have any impact on our members we will let you know.

I am very pleased to be able to bring you some great news.
The Angling Trust has lobbied the government and angling is now allowed.
There are a few extra rules which include keep your distance from others, keep local (no long trips to your favourite fishery), no matches and no night fishing.
Please stick to the rules and maintain the good image of anglers so that we can continue to fish while many others have had to give up their sports.
For more information see the full statement from the Angling Trust Covid-19 - Angling Trust .

Having consulted with the relevant government bodies the Angling Trust has now issued further information concerning angling during the Lockdown. These confirm the guidance they gave on the 4th November.
Visit the Angling Trust web site for more information and links to Sport England and Government web sites. There are downloadable documents which you could print or keep on your smart phone should anyone challenge you thinking angling is not allowed during Lockdown.
Follow this link for the Angling Trust guide.
4th November 2020
The Angling Trust has advised that we can legally go fishing during the Lockdown starting on Thursday 5th November.
To comply with the law you can only go with people from your own household, your support bubble or one friend.
Matches are banned. The club matches on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th November are cancelled. Our next match will be on the 6th December unless the Lockdown is extended.
Tackle shops must close but they can operate a phone or click and collect service if they wish. You can order your tackle and bait and then collect it from the shop door. Check with your local shop.
The law does not state how far you can travel for your fishing but the guidance notes say you should keep your travel to a minimum.
